October 2026 Writing Update

October was interesting to say the least. I have thrown away hitting a monthly word count goal because I already reached my goal for the year, but I still ended up hitting what it would have been for this month anyway. My plans for the month got thrown off in a couple of ways…so let’s dive in!

First off, I was planning on keeping my social media hiatus going for the rest of the year and coming back in January. However, EA shutting down BioWare changed that as I jumped online to fight back to #SaveMassEffect! I’m not going to let my favorite studio and gaming franchise go down without a fight. Mass Effect means so much to me as I stated in my blog post: Thank you, Mass Effect. Please sign the petition by clicking here.
Secondly, my productivity ended up going way up towards the end of the month. I had slowed down a little and still aimed to complete draft three of Celestial Saga IV either in October or November but ended up working out some of the story issues in my head before sitting down to write. When the above-mentioned event happened, that reinvigorated me to sit down and work on my stories. Afterall, without Mass Effect, there would be no Celestial Saga. Work on draft three has gone incredibly well and I should have it done by the end of November!
Throughout all of this, October 2026 ended up becoming my most productive October in terms of word count since I started recording that. I also had my second highest word count day overall with 6,510 words written on October 31st. Not bad for a month when I thought I would be taking it easy.
Monthly Goal: 24,862/16,667 (149.2%)
Yearly Goal: 281,826/200,000 (140.9%)
